Align Nodes Shortcut
Use the graph editor's align shortcuts to line up selected nodes by their edges or centers.
Use these node alignment shortcuts to speed up node organization. They work for Blueprints, Materials, Niagara, Control Rig, Sound Cues, MetaSounds, PCG, and other graph editors.
| Command | Shortcut | Aligns To |
|---|---|---|
| Align Left | SHIFT + A | The leftmost left edge |
| Align Right | SHIFT + D | The rightmost right edge |
| Align Top | SHIFT + W | The topmost top edge |
| Align Bottom | SHIFT + S | The bottommost bottom edge |
| Align Center | ALT + SHIFT + S | The average horizontal center |
| Align Middle | ALT + SHIFT + W | The average vertical middle |
Selection order doesn’t matter. Left, Right, Top, and Bottom use the outermost node in the selection, and Center and Middle use the average position of all selected nodes.
How can I align nodes to a specific node?
Right-click the node you want to align to and open Alignment in the context menu. Commands run from there align every selected node to the node you right-clicked.
Frequently asked questions
Can I distribute or stack nodes too?
Yes. The same Alignment menu has Distribute Horizontally, Distribute Vertically, Stack Horizontally, and Stack Vertically, however, they have no default shortcut.
Can I change these shortcuts?
Yes. You can bind or change them in Editor Preferences > General > Keyboard Shortcuts, under Graph Editor.
How do I line up the wires instead?
Use Q to straighten connections, which lines nodes up by their pins instead of their edges.
